Found almost everywhere, from lowlands to mountains, over towns, villages, agricultural land and forest. 15-20 cm. Resident throughout most of N hemisphere;in Asia s to N Thailand and Vietnam, non-breeding migrant to all S continents and throughout Malaysia.

Associated with human agriculture and settlements. 25 cm. Resident from the Middle East through India and S China to Southeast Asia; invaded Peninsula Malaysia and Singapore over the past century, then Sumatra and a small numbers in Sarawak.

Found in gardens, cultivation and forest edges along roads into the highlands. 20 cm. Resident in Myanmar, Indochina, Peninsula Thailand and Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, Java, Bali, Borneo and the Philippines.

Found in grasslands and pastures as well as nearby wetlands such as rice paddies and former tim mine pools; seeks company of cattle or buffalo feeding on the insects they disturb. 50-55 cm. Near global distribution; mostly a migrant to Peninsula Malaysia, Singapore, Sabah, and Sarawak.

Found in marshes, lakes, freshwater swamps and sometimes rice paddies. 93-102 cm. Vagrant to Peninsula Malaysia.

Formerly endemic to Java and Bali but spread or introduced throughout Malaysia, the bulk of the Malaysian Peninsula was colonised after 1970. Now most common myna in southern half of peninsula. 25 cm.

Seen in open country, plantations and gardens. 20 cm. Myanmar and Southeast Asia to Australia; resident in Malaysia and Singapore.

Found in gardens, orchards, plantations, secondary woodlands and mangroves, extends to edges of logged forests, cultivation and forested riverbanks. 20 cm. Resident throughout Indian sub-continent, southern third China and SE Asia to Peninsula Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, Borneo, Java, Bali and most of Philippines.

Found on coastal lagoon shores, tidal mudflats and creeks. 27-30 cm. Uncommon winter migrant to mainly coastal areas of dry lowlands, rare on wet zone coast.

Found in wet paddy fields, marshes and weedy tanks; mainly freshwater. 18-21 cm. Fairly common migrant to the lowlands, more in dry zone, and rarely in the hills.

Found mainly in coastal areas on shallow lagoons and salt pans, also inland marshes, tanks and flooded fields. 22-25 cm. Common winter migrant to the lowlands, more in dry zone.
