Also known as Marsh Harrier and Small Swamp Hawk. 50-61 cm, wingspan 1.45 m. Range all across Australia, breeds in the southern states. Found in swamps and wetlands, tall grasslands, grain-crops, coasts, islands, heathlands, salt marsh, bracken, boredrains.

14-16 cm. Native of Europe, N. Africa and Middle East, introduced into Australia from 1860s, spread to Tasmania in 1940s. Range SE Australia, se tip of SA, all Victoria and Tasmania and se NSW. Found in farmland, weedy wastelands, coastal dunes, swamp-woodlands, roadsides, orchards, parks; favours introduced trees.

Also known as Dozey, Stump, Tasmanian or Sleepy Robin. 16-17 cm. Endemic to Tasmania. Found in rainforest margins, tracks, up to 1200 m, open forests/woodlands, scrubs, newly cleared areas, regrowth, country gardens.
